The controls are easy to pick up even if using a keyboard and mouse and the driving is simple enough to be fun without having to worry about braking or being a decent driver. The ideas in Total Overdose may not be the most original and the characters are very two dimensional but none of that really matters when you are running round blowing things up and killing bad guys. The game focuses on the most exciting elements of game play and although the graphics make look 10 years old there is no denying that the special moves and slow motion shooting whilst jumping through the air is incredibly cool and more importantly a whole heap of high octane fun. Total Overdose is basically a poor man’s GTA and although that may sound bad it’s actually a compliment, considering that this (demo version) is completely free and completely off the wall insane.
